About Charlotte Gaskell
I began my business in Oriental carpets in 2001 because I never tire of looking at the wonderful colours and attractive designs and feeling the luxurious quality of wool and silk. I consider the carpets in my stock as being on loan to me until the right home is found for each one.
I come from a family that has long been fascinated by Oriental carpets and as a young woman would visit carpet galleries with my father. I studied with Jon Thompson, a world expert on carpets and weavings. I have worked in London auction houses, training with experts from Sotheby's and working in Bonham's carpet department.
Prior to Oriental carpets, my first career was in IT working as a Business Analyst and Project Manager for companies such as Morgan Grenfell, BUPA and the BBC.
