Karadja is a town about 35 miles north east of Heriz. They were and still are made either as runners or rugs whilst large Karadja carpets are rare. The knot is symmetrical and single wefted with a density similar to Hamadans. They are easily identified by their hooked medallions.

This attractive rug is in good condition for its age. Some repair has been done on the selvedges.
